Eventually, Silva stayed, and Mitrović left. But the club's plans for the 2023/24 season have surely already been hampered.
On the pitch they started with a decent 1-0 win away at Everton. But their 3-0 home defeat to Brentford last Saturday must be worrying, and has probably put the Everton result into perspective.
