Gary Lineker has announced he is standing down and the search is on for his replacement to present Match of the Day.
Mark Chapman is the betting favourite at even money (1/1). The 51-year-old is the presenter of Match of the Day 2 and also presents Sky Sports coverage of the Carabao Cup.
Chapman is a well respected broadcaster and a safe pair of hands. He has been fronting major sports events for both television and radio for well over a decade.
Also in the mix is Alex Scott (3/1), Reshmin Chowdhury (4/1) and Kelly Cates (6/1).
Scott is the current presenter of the BBC flagship show Football Focus. The former Arsenal defender took over presenting duties in 2021 when Dan Walker left to join Channel 5.
Reshmin Chowdhury currently presents TalkSPORT's live Premier League football. She also presents live coverage of the Women's Super League and major women's competitions for the BBC.
Cates is the current presenter of some of Sky Sports’ live Premier League coverage and she also presents on Radio 5 Live and ESPN.
All four of the favourites currently have connections with the BBC, the host broadcaster of Match of the Day.
