Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino Specials; 8/1 on Poch to be gone by Christmas and 11/4 to win a major trophy this season

Chelsea 2023/24 football betting tips and specials; Mauricio Pochettino started his new role as Chelsea manager on Monday, and straight away the best football betting sites announced a whole raft of special markets on how the Argentine will get on at Chelsea.

William Hill are offering the following markets on Pochettino and Chelsea for the 2023/24 season:

Big job ahead for Pochettino

Pochettino already has a lot of work waiting for him in his in-tray. After the January transfer window spending spree, the club are now attempting to clear the decks and trim the squad size.

That process is underway with the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount on their way out. But with the potential for unhappy players still being at the club, Pochettino will quickly have to get a grip on team harmony.

He will also have to try and integrate some of the new signings into the squad and starting XI. Even the most ardent of Chelsea fans would have to admit that didn't go too well last year.

And whether the blame for this lies with Graham Potter and Frank Lampard is irrelevant, the facts are Pochettino has to sort it. If he can't, the 8/1 available on the former Saints and Spurs boss to be gone by Christmas could be good value.

Even though this Chelsea board stuck with Graham Potter for a long period of time, doesn't mean they will do it again with Pochettino.

The chances are they will act quicker next time.

5/4 for a Chelsea Top Four Finish

One thing that could be classed as a bonus for Chelsea this season is their lack of European football. Pochettino has the luxury of just being able to focus solely on domestic football,

An assault on the Premier League title seems out of the equation. But Todd Boehly will surely be expecting his expensively assembled squad to be challenging for a place in the Top 4.

If Pochettino can't get things moving in the right direction, the Blues are 7/1 to finish in the bottom half again.

The chances are the 8/1 on Poch to be gone by Christmas may have already won if things are going that bad. But what's to say Chelsea won't go bonkers in the January transfer window again?

Either way, it will be fascinating to see what happens at Stamford Bridge this season. But in Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea are getting a manager who knows his way around the Premier League.

So we feel that this means he has a good chance of turning the Blues around. So for our football betting tip on Chelsea, we think they're good value to finish in the Top 4.
