Palace Safe, but Leeds still in trouble after Selhurst Park Stalemate

Crystal Palace and Leeds battled it out for a point each at Selhurst Park in Monday night's stalemate.

I'm not sure if this will go down as a good point, or potentially two dropped, for Leeds. We will have to wait until the end of the season for confirmation on that observation!

On the face of it, a point away at Crystal Palace is a decent result. But that's before you look at Leeds' next three fixtures.....

  • Man City (H) - Saturday 30th April
  • Arsenal (A) - Sunday 8th May
  • Chelsea (H) - Wednesday 11th May

..... quite where the Whites will be after those matches, is another question altogether.

At the moment, Leeds sit 5 points clear of third bottom Everton, with 5 games remaining. The Toffees do have one game in hand though (Everton have played 32 matches).

Burnley sits one place and 3 points behind Leeds. Both sides have played 33 matches (out of 38).

As for Palace, the point will do them. Defeat would have seen Leeds close to within just 1 point of Viera's team. The draw all but confirms Palace's Premier League survival.

The Eagles probably had the better of the match (you can see match highlights below), but I dare say will be more releaved not to have lost.

In the latest Premier League relegation betting odds, Leeds are 4/1 shots. The bookies still have it as a straight shoot-out between Everton and Burnley to be joining Norwich and Watford in the Championship next season.
