Match 8 Euro 2020 Highlights - Scotland took on Czech Republic in their first match at a major championships since 1998.
The match didn't go to plan for Steve Clarke's men as they lost 2-0 at Hampden Park in their Group D opener.
The hero of the day for Czech Republic was Patrik Schick who scored both Czech Republic's goals. His brace included the best goal of Euro 2020 to date, a magnificent lob from the half way line that caught David Marshall off his line, and put the Scots 2-0 down.
Derby County keeper, David Marshall will forever be remembered for the lob, but I think that's harsh.
Goalkeepers these days are expected to sweep up at the back, and this goal came as a result of that. The likes of Ederson and Alisson Becker are doing the same thing every week in the Premier League, as their respective managers expect them too. So to blame Marshall is harsh in my view.
Try as they might, the Scots couldn't recover from that set back. They created enough chances, but seemed to snatch at them.
Scotland shouldn't be too disheartened though. They were more than a match for Czech Republic, and on another day, the result could well have been different.
